From June 2nd to October 2nd 2011, the city of Nimes, in collaboration with La Fondation des Treilles, will present a major exhibition entitled Une Collection Particulière at the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Arranged in seven sections, the exhibition will present over one hundred paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints, with little-known artists accompanying some of the big names in modern and contemporary art such as Arp, Brauner, Dubuffet, Ernst, Giacometti, Leger, Picasso, Soulages and Takis, described by founder Anne Gruner Schlumberger (1905- 1993) as “artists of the imagination”. La Fondation des Treilles is a thoughtful and personal collection of works put together by its founder and her friends. The public is invited to explore this rich art collection and the passions driving it- the loves and interests of its founder and her admiration for her artist friends.
