http://www.fifma.comVisit the International Film Festival on Crafts in Montpellier from 7 to 9 March 2014!
An edition placed under the banner of innovation, since the festival is dedicated to all approaches and techniques linked to the craft professions for the first time:
> Enter the workshops of contemporary creators: Belgian designer Isabelle de Borchgrave’s haute couture world made entirely of paper, or the heart of the Manufacture de Sèvres, where Nicolas Frize has created a set of porcelain musical instruments.
> Set sail for distant horizons, in search of unique know-how: in Korea, where paper-making is considered an art; Japan, where pottery traditions have been handed down from father to son for centuries; or India, where traditional embroidery techniques are enjoying a new lease of life…
> Delve into the downy world of animation films made entirely with wool felt.
> Come and meet artists and craftsworkers who have made a mark in the history of art, such as Jean Desprès, the silversmith of the “Roaring Twenties”, or Reinhoud, a Belgian sculptor who emerged from the CoBrA movement.
> Explore the heart of French know-how, and the secrets of hundred-year-old factories such as Aubusson, Sèvres or Zuber.
Discover a unique, convivial event, which always brings together 1,700 craft enthusiasts from all over the world, audiovisual professionals, artists and craftsworkers.
